Cultural Identity
Suppose a child comes to live with you who has a different ethnicity from you. In that case, it is essential that you value and respect the child's cultural identity, heritage and past experiences and be willing to learn.
This could be researching on specific needs such as hair care and skin products or supporting them to find links with their local community and helping them meet their religious needs.
The child's social worker and your own supervising social worker will be able to support and guide you.
